Silicon Carbide Ceramic Membrane
Silicon carbide ceramic membrane is a new type of non-oxide inorganic membrane. It not only has the characteristics of high mechanical strength, concentrated pore size distribution, good thermal shock resistance, and long service life but also has outstanding advantages in membrane flux, high-temperature stability, strong acid and alkali resistance, etc. It is a beneficial attempt to use it for heavy metal wastewater treatment. Silicon carbide ceramic membrane separation technology is considered to be one of the fastest-growing new membrane separation technologies in recent years.
Pure SiC ceramic membrane is sintered at high temperatures using recrystallization technology. Its porous support layer, transition layer, and membrane layer raw materials are all made of high-purity silicon carbide (>99.5%) without adding any sintering aids, inheriting almost all the characteristics of silicon carbide materials. The main functions of pure SiC ceramic membranes are separation, concentration, purification, clarification, etc., among which separation is the basis, and the core lies in the control and selection of membrane pore size.
The filtration accuracy is mostly microfiltration and ultrafiltration. According to the different membrane structures, it is generally divided into tubular membranes and flat membranes. Tubular membranes are composed of separation layers, transition layers, and support layers, and flat membranes are composed of separation layers and support layers.

Structural features of silicon carbide ceramic membrane
Multi-channel tubular structure design: adopts the fluid separation process in the form of “cross-flow filtration”. The raw liquid flows at high speed in the ceramic membrane tube. Under pressure, the clarified permeate containing small molecular components passes through the membrane in a direction perpendicular to it, and the turbid concentrated liquid containing large molecular components is intercepted by the membrane so that the fluid can achieve the purpose of separation, concentration, and purification. The liquid flow direction is tangent to the membrane surface, and the temporary covering of the membrane surface will be carried away by the fluid. The biggest advantage of the membrane equipment using cross-flow separation technology is that the membrane is not easily blocked, and the equipment can operate stably for a long time.

SiC Ceramic Membrane
Asymmetric structure design: improve the backwashing process effect. The high-frequency backwashing process in the process design can flush away the pollutants on the membrane surface, restore its filtration function, ensure the long-term stable operation of the equipment, and extend the membrane cleaning cycle.
Technical features of SiC membrane products
Silicon carbide ceramic microfiltration and ultrafiltration membranes are recrystallized and sintered at a high temperature of 2400℃. The recrystallization technology makes the surface of silicon carbide crystal particles smooth and round, and the support layer, transition layer, and separation layer have no closed pores and channels, forming an asymmetric membrane structure.
Automated coating equipment is used to ensure that the thickness of each membrane layer is uniform. The membrane layer thickness is about 120μm, which has higher wear resistance than the traditional oxide ceramic 20μm. The membrane layer formula design is optimized, so that the membrane layer has a higher water flow rate, which is 3-5 times that of ordinary ceramic membranes, and lower pressure loss. The normal transmembrane pressure difference is 1 bar.
Each membrane has been tested several times, including length, diameter, and verticality, and the maximum pore size test is not less than 3 times, to ensure the safety and stability of membrane classification and the reliability of each membrane shipped.
