PBN Filament Ring, Pyrolytic Boron Nitride Filament Ring

In MBE (Molecular Beam Epitaxy) equipment, the filament ring is a key component. It is usually made of high-purity Pyrolytic Boron Nitride (PBN) material and is used as a heating element or support structure in a high-temperature, high-vacuum environment. The PBN Filament Ring is processed by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) because the unique gas-solid phase transition in CVD ensures that the deposition of gaseous impurities during the process is minimized. This high-purity PBN Filament ring is particularly suitable for applications with strict purity requirements.

PBN is an advanced material with excellent properties, including

-Non-toxic and odorless;

-High purity & density

-No react with acid, alkali, salt, and organic reagents at room temperature, and slightly corroded in molten salt or alkali solution, but it can resist corrosion of various acids at high temperature;

-No reaction with most molten metals, semiconductors, and their compounds;

-The oxidation resistance is good below 1000 °C;

-Good thermal shock resistance

-The use temperature is high, there is no sublimation point, and it is directly decomposed into B and N above 3000 °C

Packing

As a ceramic material, boron nitride is quite fragile in a lot of cases. The PBN Filament Rings are usually held in plastic bags by vacuum, and protected with heavy foam.
