Characteristics of Boron Nitride Square and Rectangular Crucible

-High temperature stability: The maximum sintering temperature of AlN substrates is about 2000℃, and the maximum sintering temperature of Si3N4 substrates is about 1850℃. Both processes involve thermal shocks in different temperature ranges. Boron nitride crucibles can withstand high temperatures up to 2100℃ and exhibit thermal expansion coefficients similar to those of AlN and Si3N4, ensuring stability under high temperature conditions.

Boron Nitride Square Crucible

-Low wettability: BN ceramics have low wettability, which means that molten material is unlikely to spread widely on their surface, but tends to form small balls. This reduces the contact area between the substrate material and the boron nitride crucible during sintering, minimizing the difficulty of adhesion and removing the sintered substrate from the crucible.

-Chemical stability: BN ceramics have high chemical stability and will not react or contaminate many materials. When sintering AlN and Si3N4 substrates, using BN crucibles can provide direct contact with the substrate material without introducing impurities or changing the composition and properties of the substrate.

-Good thermal conductivity: BN crucible has high thermal conductivity, which is conducive to efficient heat transfer, helping to achieve uniform heating and temperature distribution during sintering, thereby improving the uniformity and quality of sintering, and also helping to achieve uniformity in substrate density, structure, composition, and size shape, thereby improving the electrical performance, durability, and precise size of AlN and Si3N4 substrates.

Application of Boron Nitride Square Crucible

– Used for sintering silicon nitride substrates, aluminum nitride substrates, and other materials

– Sintering and smelting of precious metals and alloy materials

This high-purity boron nitride (BN) crucible is engineered for superior performance in sintering and high-temperature smelting processes. It is especially suitable for use with a wide range of metals, glass materials, and molten salts due to its excellent thermal and chemical stability.

Suitable for Smelting and Processing:

  • Nonferrous and ferrous metals, including:
Aluminum (Al), Bismuth (Bi), Germanium (Ge), Antimony (Sb), Tin (Sn), Cadmium (Cd), Lead (Pb), Nickel (Ni), Zinc (Zn), Copper (Cu), Magnesium (Mg), Indium (Im), Iron (Fe), Stainless Steel, and more

  • Glass and glass melts, such as:
    Soda-lime glass, Cryolite

  • High-temperature molten compounds, including:
Molten silicon, molten salt, fluoride compounds, and slag

With its non-reactive and non-wettable surface, this BN crucible ensures clean processing and minimizes contamination, making it ideal for demanding metallurgical and materials research environments.

Packing of BN Square Crucible

As a ceramic material, boron nitride is quite fragile in a lot of cases. Our Boron Nitride Square Crucible is carefully handled to minimize damage during storage and transportation. Suitable outer boxes and inner cushioning materials are used for BN products, vacuum packing is also engaged for some of the parts.
