Silicon Nitride Forming Rollers, Si3N4 Ceramic Forming Roller

Silicon Nitride Forming Rollers have been applied to roll-forming machines to manufacture complex cross-sections. Si3N4 Forming Rollers for plastic forming can reduce the adhesion of metal to the roller, thereby improving product quality.
Among the five methods of silicon nitride production, GPSN is most commonly used to produce Si3N4 parts. Here we introduce gas pressure sintering (GPS): Gas pressure sintering of silicon nitride is carried out at a temperature of about 2000°C under a pressure of 1 to 10 MPa. High nitrogen pressure inhibits the pyrolysis of silicon nitride. Due to high-temperature sintering, only fewer sintering aids need to be added to promote Si3N4 grain growth, and high-toughness ceramics with in-situ growth density of long columnar grains > 99% are obtained. With high toughness, high strength, and good wear resistance, various complex-shaped products close to the final shape can be directly produced, which can greatly reduce production and processing costs.

Typical properties of silicon nitride ceramics
-Extremely strong corrosion resistance, can be used in other strong acids and alkalis except concentrated HF
-High-temperature resistance, can withstand up to 1200℃ in an oxidizing atmosphere, and up to 1500℃ in a reducing atmosphere
-Non-magnetic, electrically insulating, low thermal conductivity, can be used as insulating and heat-insulating materials
-Low density, high strength, and hardness can be used as wear-resistant materials
-Low thermal expansion coefficient (3.2×10-6/K), about 30% of alumina ceramics and 40% of zirconia ceramics can withstand rapid temperature changes without cracking

Packing
As a ceramic material, silicon nitride is quite fragile in a lot of cases. Our Si3N4 Forming Rollers are carefully handled to minimize damage during storage and transportation. Suitable outer boxes and inner cushioning materials are used for Si3N4 products, vacuum packing is also engaged for some of the parts.
